Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has revealed he has told Bruno Fernandes himself that the captaincy playmaker will not be leaving this summer and is confident the player remains happy at the club.
After the international break last weekend, British media reported that La Liga giants Real Madrid were interested in the player, whose contract runs until 2027.
“No, it’s not going to happen,” Amorim said when asked about the speculation during a press conference ahead of Tuesday’s Premier League game at Nottingham Forest.
Pressed on what made him so sure, Amorim said: “Bruno will not go, because I told him that.”
United sit 13th in the league this season but the 30-year-old has been in fine form. Scoring 16 goals and providing 16 assists in 44 games in all competitions.

“Bruno is also a Manchester United fan so he has a big feeling for the club. “
